While you may pay more per square foot for a larger tile , you will need fewer of them. The thickness of a tile is significant when you are meeting another type of surface such as carpet or wood. Your installer should take this into account and adjust his/her setting bed to make sure the tile lines up evenly with the other material. Mosaics and smaller tiles are beautiful but make sure you are choosing the right size based on your intended design.
