Preparing for New Carpet Installation

So you’ve chosen the perfect new carpet for your home.

Before the installer arrives, make sure you know the answer to these questions: 

  • Who’s responsible for moving the furniture?

  • Who will put the furniture back in place after the carpet installation is complete?

  • Who will remove and get rid of the old carpet and padding?

  • Is there any extra charge for providing these services? 

Make sure your room is ready for the new carpet:

  • Vacuum the room thoroughly before it’s time to pull out the old carpet to cut down on flying dirt and dust.

  • If you’re remodeling, schedule the carpet installation after the painting and construction is complete.

  • If your carpet is pre-delivered, be sure the roll of carpet is stored at room temperature – especially as installation day arrives.
