Being in the UK Conservatory Blinds industry I have had a little experience when it comes to cleaning blinds [ usually they have just been installed ].. no matter what kind of gadgets seem to be about to me it always comes down to a large amount of elbow grease and a damp cloth... the next best thing I have found is to use one of those anti static cloths that are used on the car windscreen.. [ we use them when installing conservatory blinds ]..

In addition using a de-humidifier can actually help prevent the dust from settling in the first place but of course these cannot be installed in every room...

Hi Lou,

This is an interesting question, but the answer truly depends on your definition of a big difference. Are you looking to increase the natural lighting that comes into your bedroom or seeking to add some dramatic flair through unique window sizes? Or are you simply looking to find a quality window at an affordable price?

If your current windows seem out of touch with the style of your bedroom or your intended bedroom remodeling plans, then you may want to think about upgrading for purely aesthetic purposes. What will hold true regardless of the reason behind your decision is that your choice of windows will have a profound impact on your enjoyment of the room.

There are several ways you can use creative window design and placement to make a difference in the overall feel of the room. A good way to think about window placement and design for any room of your house is considering how they will interact with your home’s exterior. For example, if you have ornate landscaping surrounding your home, then the right window positioning can help bring that dramatic scenery into your bedroom. This is a great way to merge your home’s beautiful interior with the great outdoors, to visually expand your entire living space.

One other thing to keep in mind is the amount of sunlight your windows will let in. Used cleverly, with careful window selection and positioning, sunlight can transform your home’s interior as the sun rises and sets during the day. You may also consider adding wall or roof-mounted windows to channel warmer air to the outside, or situate windows on rival walls to create an artificial breeze throughout the room. Windows should complement the room’s structural design and disposition, so don’t forget to match your window latches and handles to your bedroom’s décor and furnishings.

If you need assistance choosing specific manufacturers or brands for your new bedroom, get the advice of an interior designer. DirectBuy has licensed interior designers and expert product specialists specifically trained to handle inquiries like this; they can help you choose the products that will make your home improvement project a success.

We look forward to hearing from you on the success of your bedroom remodeling project!
