Preserving Your Furniture, Part II
Preserving Your Furniture, Part I discussed two of the greatest threats to furniture: people and the environment. But the good news is you can have control over both of these factors.
People – you should be careful around your furniture and make sure family and guests treat it with respect. Also, keep the vacuum away from fragile living room sofa legs and avoid placing drinking glasses directly on table surfaces.
Environment – temperature, humidity, and light can make the two main components of furniture (wood and upholstery) age before its time, so make sure furniture is kept in a temperature controlled room and not in the path of direct sunlight.
Window treatments are another great way to keep your furniture looking like new by blocking harmful rays from the sun and cooling down a room.
DirectBuy offers a wide selection of home furnishings including dining room furniture, bedroom furniture, living room furniture and more – all at manufacturer-direct prices and all from leading manufacturers and their authorized suppliers.
