Tools Needed For Installation

You will need a saw, nail gun and construction adhesive for the wainscoting. The fabric will require wallpaper primer, adhesive and a brush. You will also need some attractive trim pieces to finish off the edges.

Installing the Wainscoting

Once the wainscoting is cut to size, smear adhesive on the back of it to secure it to the wall. Use the nail gun to secure the top and bottom of the wainscoting. The nails will later be covered by your chair rail and baseboard.

Hanging the Fabric

Apply primer to the wall that will be covered and allow it to dry. Use the nail gun to secure the fabric along the top edge of the wall. Have a friend hold the fabric up while you spread the adhesive under the fabric. Smooth it in place and allow it to dry.
