Make Sure Your New Living Room Furniture Can Actually Get Into Your House

September 5th, 2008 by Home Pro

Have you ever heard a friend tell the story of having to take the window casing out of an exterior wall to get a chair into the house?  Perhaps you have had to do this yourself.  Before purchasing your new living room furniture, make sure you can get it into the house.

You know exactly the size of the couch needed for the long wall in your living room.  Can it fit through your front door?  Maybe it can get through the front door, but not through the hallway door into the living room.

Knowing the access points into your living room is crucial.  Do you have to go up a flight of stairs or make a couple of turns on those stairs?  If delivery will have to come via an elevator, make sure to know the dimensions of the elevator.

Taking out the window casing for getting furniture into the house isn’t much fun and putting it back in correctly is even worse. Prior to purchasing the perfect sofa or chair for your living room, take a little extra time to figure out the measurements and angles of your home entry points.

DirectBuy has a great selection of living room furniture to help you create the living room you’ve always dreamed of. Best of all, with DirectBuy you can save with manufacturer-direct prices on all your home furnishings and accessories.
