How to Get Ink Out of Furniture
October 13th, 2008 by Home ProOops! Got ink on your furniture? Before you freak out there is hope. You can use popular cleaning products to remove the stain, but if you don’t have any of them on hand, you can try some common items found around the house to get the ink out.
Hairspray – sounds weird but it works. Just make sure it has high alcohol content and no conditioners or oils which can ruin the fabric. Spray a little and gently scrub.
Dishwasher Detergent – put a little dish detergent on, let it set for 15 minutes or more, gently scrub, then “rinse” with clear water on a cloth by patting the stain. Just don’t use detergent with bleach since it can mess up the color of the fabric.
Hydrogen Peroxide Mixed with Ammonia – make sure it’s a 50/50 mix because hydrogen peroxide alone or too much of it can ruin fabric.
