A Few Ways to Make Your Bedroom More Relaxing

No matter what is going on in your life whether things are stressful or fairly calm for the moment, you need enough sleep to help you function at the top of your game. Often there are such simple ways that we just haven’t realized are making a difference and hindering a good night’s rest.

1.    If you have a T.V. or computer in your bedroom, move it to another area of your home. Both of these can keep you from allowing your mind to freely relax. You don’t need to watch the news before you go to sleep and you don’t need to think about work. Having the computer close by is too tempting to check email just one more time. So give yourself a break from these two while you’re in the bedroom.

2.    Make the lighting right for your needs. Some people need complete darkness and others feel more relaxed with just a touch of lighting. Decide which really works best for you, then work on your window treatments to block out any excess light and add a nightlight in an indiscreet spot.

3.    Bring in an air purifier or humidifier to improve you air quality with the added bonus of white noise that blocks out those little disturbing noises of the night that can bring you out of a nice relaxing sleep.

There may be other changes that you will recognize after a while that will further improve the quality of your sleeping environment, but these three areas will definitely be an improvement and you should begin to see a difference very soon.
