washing machine2How long have you had your comforter on your bed before you thought to wash it? Probably too long! It doesn’t have to be hard; just keep in mind the following tips:

  • If you have a large and thick comforter, don’t try to clean it at home. Use a large capacity dryer at the laundry mat of have it professionally dry cleaned.
  • If you wash your comforter at home, use a detergent with a degreaser to remove hair and body oils.
  • Wash your comforter once every few years so it won’t shrink. Washing it also gets rid of dust and mites.
  • Wash your comforter in cold water to avoid shrinking.
  • Dry out your comforter by putting it on a low temperature setting so it won’t shrink, hanging it outside or in a warm room to get it completely dry.

Of course before you attempt to wash any comforter, please read the care label to see if it is capable of being washed.
